Registered Financial Consultants (RFC)

The RFC is a professional designation awarded by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) to members who meet the Association’s high standards of education, experience and integrity.

The IFS, City University of Macau and IARFC Hong Kong and Macau Center have jointly organized RFC accredited courses aiming for Macao’s financial practitioners to enhance financial planning knowledge so as to raise the  professional standard.

The RFC accredited courses are “Professional Diploma in Financial Consulting” and Executive Program, namely “Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting”.

The “Professional Diploma in Financial Consulting” program is designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in financial consulting. The program contains academic theories and “Case Studies” including the following five modules with 111 hours of course studies:

Module 1 - Personal Financial Planning (24 hours)

Module 2 - Finance and Investments (24 hours)

Module 3 - Risk Management and Insurance (24 hours)

Module 4 - Tax Systems and Law (24 hours)

Module 5 - Professional Practice of Financial Consulting – Case Studies (15 hours).

The “Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting” (Executive Program) is designed for financial planning professionals with recognized experience and seniority. The 4-day program consists of the following four modules with 30 hours of course studies:

Module 1 - Personal Financial Planning (8 hours)

Module 2 - Finance and Investment (8 hours)

Module 3 - Tax System and Law (8 hours)

Module 4 - Case Studies (6 hours)

The Executive Program is now open for enrolments, the venue for enrolments and classes is at the City University of Macau, the deadline is May 17 and the course start date is June 1, 2024.

All successful graduates of the Program, subject to satisfaction of Membership Requirements of the IARFC, shall be conferred the RFC or RFA designation.

The courses are included in the qualified activities under the Continuing Professional Development Program for Insurance Intermediaries of the Monetary Authority of Macao.
