Certified Banker (CB)

Certified Banker (CB) is a professional designation conferred by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) to help banking practitioners raise the professional standards with skills relevant for the fast-changing banking environment. It also provides a widely-recognized common qualification benchmark.

Certified Banker contains three programs in progressive QF Levels, i.e. Advanced Diploma, Professional Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma. Candidates should attempt the programs progressively according to their academic background and related work experience.

Certified Banker offers qualification in three levels, reflecting the different level of experience and skills of an individual. The CB is suitable for current banking and financial practitioners who wish to deepen industry knowledge for career advancement as well as university students who wish to join the banking profession after graduation.

The Macau Institute of Financial Services (MIFS), University of Macao and Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) have jointly organized the “CB Macao” since 2021. In 2022, the three parties will continue organizing the CB program. The program schedule is from September to July 2023, and the venue for classes is at Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau, E4.

Upon successfully completion of the courses, students will be awarded the “Advanced Diploma for Certified Banker Macao”; and upon fulfilling the corresponding designation requirements, students will be grated “CB (Stage I) – Macao”.
